“If I were to venture into the Alps in search of awe-inspiring vistas, would their majesty alone inspire me to capture them on canvas? Like a box of exquisite chocolates, landscape paintings offer picturesque delights, appreciated in museums worldwide. Yet, the quest for the picturesque might not be as essential as we think. In my view, sketching everyday scenes resembles a poet crafting a haiku: it forges a symbiosis of memories between the observer and the image. This process unveils a universe of imagery that deepens and expands, revealing profound messages within mundane landscapes. Thus, searching for the perfect landscape in art could be seen as akin to mastering the art of haiku.”
