New York Solo Exhibitions at Armand Hammer Gallery


Masayuki Hara held two solo exhibitions at the prestigious Armand Hammer Gallery in New York — first in 1986 at the age of 29, and again in 1988. These exhibitions introduced his landscapes of Japan to an international audience, earning acclaim for their subtle technique and contemplative vision.


The gallery’s namesake, Dr. Armand Hammer, was not only a noted art patron but also played a quiet yet pivotal role in global energy development — including Britain’s North Sea oil projects. His encouragement at the time left a lasting impression.
